Маск сообщил, что США прекращают программу USAID.

Elon Musk, who is currently leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), announced on platform X that they are working on shutting down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Reuters writes about this.

The conversation, which included former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Republican Senator Joni Ernst, began with Musk stating that they are working on closing USAID.

"It is beyond repair," Musk said, adding that President Trump agrees that the program should be shut down. According to Musk, closing USAID is part of an initiative to reduce government spending.

As writes the agency, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump recently dismissed two high-ranking officials from the security service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). They had previously attempted to obstruct representatives from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by billionaire Elon Musk, from accessing restricted areas of the building.

Previously, dozens of USAID employees were dismissed. According to at least five sources, nearly 30 employees from the Office of Legislative Affairs and Public Relations lost access to their email, bringing the total number of senior USAID staff who were placed on forced leave last week to nearly 100.

The USAID website has been down since Saturday, February 1. On Sunday, February 2, the agency's page on the social media platform X was also blocked.
