The explosion occurred on Taras Shevchenko Street. Eyewitnesses attempted to assist the driver, pulling him from the vehicle and handing him over to medical personnel; however, his injuries were fatal – the driver lost his legs.
According to witnesses, a hole formed under the car, which may indicate the presence of an improvised explosive device.
As reported by the Telegram channel Astra, later, the "governor" of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, confirmed the death of the military personnel in the exploded vehicle.
