The National Academy of Sciences has transferred 130 hectares of land to private developers.
This is reported by the State Audit Office.
According to the office, the academy has signed 44 agreements for land transfer, of which 34 involve the development of 116 hectares of the most attractive areas for developers in Kyiv.
Initially, such agreements, as noted by auditors, also included the exchange of plots for at least 10% of the area of the construction projects. However, this percentage reportedly decreased to 2% over time.
“State land in the capital is practically being handed over to private entities for a pittance. Moreover, this is happening without achieving the main goal – providing housing for scientists. Many investment projects remain unrealized, leaving scientists ‘homeless’,” the office explains.
The audit also indicates that from 2020 to 2023, the housing stock of the NASU increased by 107 apartments, while 650 employees were waiting for their housing.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Ministry of Defense returned land and property complex in Kyiv valued at 300 million UAH. The Economic Court of the capital declared their privatization illegal.
