Former Ukrainian national football team striker Andriy Voronin has been labeled as one of the worst forwards in the history of the English Premier League.
The sports publication GiveMeSport has created its own ranking of forwards who failed to deliver a commendable performance in the EPL.
Andriy Voronin played in England for Liverpool, where he appeared in 27 matches over two years, scoring 5 goals. He also provided 3 assists during his time there.
The publication placed Voronin in sixth place on its list of worst forwards, noting that he joined his club for free. The title of the worst forward went to Ivorian Yaya Sanogo, who never managed to score during his brief career in England.
Ranking of the worst forwards:
It’s worth noting that currently five Ukrainian footballers are playing in England – defenders Illia Zabarnyi, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Vitaliy Mykolenko, along with midfielders Mykhailo Mudryk and Yehor Yarmolyuk.
Background. Previously, the legendary forward Andriy Shevchenko also played in England, where he also experienced far from his best years, while in Italy he became a true legend and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Italian football.
