Ukrainian law enforcement officials have dismantled an organized crime group that, according to investigative reports, was fabricating conclusions from military-medical commissions (VLC) to illegally transport conscripts across the state border.

The National Police of Ukraine reported this information.

According to law enforcement, the mastermind behind the scheme was a former employee of the Kyiv Regional Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who had previously been convicted of corruption.

It has been reported that he involved an active official from one of the territorial recruitment centers and a doctor from a city hospital in the criminal activities.

Law enforcement officials discovered that the doctor was issuing false medical certificates, while the recruitment center employee was assisting in evading military service.

Reportedly, the cost of such services ranged from $7,000 to $15,000.

Law enforcement carried out searches at the military recruitment office, the hospital, and the residences of the suspects, seizing medical documentation, computer equipment, records, mobile phones, and 5 million hryvnias, according to the statement.

In addition, the Central Military Medical Commission has annulled the forged conclusions from district commissions received by the scheme participants, as stated by the press service.

Three individuals have been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including illegal border crossing, abuse of influence, and evasion of conscription during a special period.

If found guilty, they face up to 9 years in prison with property confiscation and a ban on holding certain positions for three years.
