Ukraine has successfully returned another six children from temporarily occupied territories (TOT) as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
This was announced in a Telegram message by Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to him, while under occupation, the children were constantly at risk of deportation and psychological pressure, and 16-year-old boys faced the threat of forced conscription into the Russian army.
“Children report that it is a common practice in the occupied territories for boys to be taken to the city for military registration without their parents' consent instead of attending school. One of the rescued boys frequently skipped classes due to this, which ultimately saved him from receiving a draft notice,” added the head of the Office of the President.
In addition, all children in schools were taught not academic subjects, but propaganda. They were forced to sing the Russian anthem, learn the history rewritten by Russia, and undergo military training.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on November 29, Ukraine returned 8 children from the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as Crimea.
