Спасти TikTok: Трамп намерен отложить запрет на соцсеть.

The elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he would postpone the TikTok ban as soon as he takes office. He wants the platform to continue operating, but only if half of the company is owned by the United States.

He mentioned this in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

According to Trump, immediately after his inauguration on January 20, he will issue an executive order to extend the period before the law that led to the TikTok ban takes effect, allowing time to "strike a deal to protect our national security."

"The order will also confirm that no company that helped keep TikTok from being banned prior to my order will be held accountable," the elected president stated.

He also proposed a potential solution that would enable the social media platform to continue its operations in the United States. "I would like the U.S. to have 50% ownership in a joint company. This way, we will save TikTok, ensure it is in good hands, and allow it to grow. Without U.S. approval, TikTok will not exist. With our approval, it will be worth hundreds of billions, possibly even trillions of dollars. Therefore, my initial idea is a joint company with the current owners and/or new ones, where the U.S. will receive 50%," Trump explained.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on the evening of January 18, TikTok stopped operating in the U.S. The official ban came into effect on January 19.
