"300 km isn't too far": Borrell confirmed the White House's decision to grant Ukraine permission for long-range missiles.

According to him, this issue was discussed at the meeting of the EU foreign ministers, but no joint decision was reached.
«300 км — это не так уж много»: Боррель подтвердил решение Белого дома о разрешении Украине на дальнобойные ракеты.

The United States has granted Ukraine permission to strike military targets deep within Russian territory, confirmed EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell on November 18 following a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, as reported by Reuters.

“The Biden administration has allowed the use of its weapons up to 300 kilometers inside Russian territory. The American administration had long said 'no' and eventually said 'yes,'” he stated.

According to him, the issue of permitting Ukrainian servicemen to use American weapons for strikes into Russia was discussed at the meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday.

“This means a range of 300 kilometers. It’s not that much when we talk about distance; it doesn’t reach far into the country, but it is the administration's decision. Why they made this decision now and not before the elections? I don’t know,” Borrell noted.

He also emphasized that the EU foreign ministers did not reach a collective decision to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons on Russian territory.

“Each country decides for itself,” Borrell said.

Background. As reported, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated to reporters in Brussels that France will consider the possibility of allowing Ukraine to strike Russian territory with its long-range missiles.
