The detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Lviv region uncovered two instances of electronic cigarettes being transported from China, containing prohibited liquids.
This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security.
It is noted that the illegal import of goods was detected during an inspection of accompanying documents and declarations that arrived at the customs post "Lviv-North." According to the bureau, the importer provided documents that contained false information. The recipient of the disposable nicotine-containing electronic cigarettes was one of the enterprises in Odesa.
“The detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security conducted vehicle inspections and seized over 346,000 units of goods valued at 24 million UAH,” the statement said.
Furthermore, based on the results of laboratory tests, it was established that the fillers for the detected electronic cigarettes are prohibited by the Law of Ukraine on “Measures to Prevent and Reduce the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Harmful Effects on Public Health.”
“The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the full circle of individuals involved in the illegal activity is being established,” emphasized the Bureau of Economic Security.
