Теперь для контактов с запрещенными религиозными организациями требуется разрешение – такое решение приняло правительство.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for coordinating connections with banned religious organizations in Ukraine.

A government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported this.

According to the document, the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience will now issue individual permits for communication, contacts, or cooperation with foreign religious organizations whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine.

Additionally, the form for applying for such a permit, a list of required documents, and the conditions under which a permit may be granted or denied have been established.

"The procedure for monitoring the implementation of relevant connections and contacts with foreign religious organizations whose activities are banned in Ukraine has been defined," Melnychuk added.

Meanwhile, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko suggests that this specifically concerns the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

Background. Previously, Mind reported that on September 23, a law on the prohibition of the activities of religious institutions with ties to the Russian Federation came into force in Ukraine. Ukrainian religious institutions have until May 2025 to sever ties with the ROC.
