The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to provide financial support of 6500 UAH for children from low-income families and families of internally displaced persons. The funds will be distributed in December.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this information.
“The government has taken initial steps to implement a comprehensive package of ‘Winter Support’ for Ukrainian families. We continue to introduce new programs and initiatives,” he stated.
According to the head of the government, the child component of the ‘Winter Support’ includes several items. Among them is the “Warm Winter” program: a one-time financial aid for children to help them through the winter period.
“Throughout December, each low-income family, as well as internally displaced families with children or adults with first-group disabilities, will receive 6500 UAH for each child. This money is intended for purchasing warm clothing, footwear, and other necessary winter items for children,” Shmyhal clarified.
In addition, the head of the government announced that on St. Nicholas Day, orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are raised in foster or guardian families, will receive an additional one-time payment of 1000 UAH for each child.
“This initiative will be implemented within the framework of ‘Winter Support.’ A huge thank you to UNICEF for providing the financial resources for this program,” he emphasized.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the implementation of the plan for the ‘Thousand of Zelensky’ payments. In particular, 5 billion UAH will be allocated for this purpose.
