Heading to Kyiv for the celebration: New details emerge about the fatal car accident involving the Kharkiv blogger.

Kharkiv blogger Anna Zhuk, who tragically died today, was on her way to the birthday celebration of the daughter of well-known influencer Stasya Makeeva.

This was reported by blogger Yulia Verba on her Telegram channel, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to her, she did not know Zhuk personally, but they had been communicating on Instagram for three years.

"For three years, she would reply to my stories, supported me when my pages were blocked, and even advised me on which diapers were better. It's such a loss. Today, the world has taken away a very bright and kind person," Verba wrote.

Verba learned the devastating news upon her arrival in Kyiv.

The mother of the birthday girl, Stasya Makeeva, to whom the Zhuk family was headed, found out about the accident while she was being prepared for the celebration, according to social media reports.

"Our Michelle doesn't understand the word death; she doesn't grasp that someone has died, nor does she understand why her parents are crying. And I can't stop crying; Sasha also can't stop because we were very close with this family," Makeeva said through tears.

A family friend of the Makeevas, blogger Oleg Mashukovsky, announced on his Instagram that due to the tragedy, the celebration of little Michelle's 4th birthday has been canceled.

Many prominent Ukrainian bloggers are honoring Zhuk's memory; they are sharing photos of themselves with the Kharkiv resident and writing about how genuine and kind she was.

"Just now, three people wrote that Anna Zhuk died in an accident; please tell me this is a joke," blogger Anna Alkhim said, unable to hold back her tears.

Anna Zhuk was a mother of three and actively supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2024, the blogger was recognized by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskiy.

"She was also part of a volunteer organization that repeatedly assisted the military," reads a social media post.

To remind, 39-year-old Anna Zhuk died today, on January 24, around 8:40 a.m. at the 209th kilometer of the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway near the village of Zasulye in the Lubny community.

According to police, the Lexus, driven by a 24-year-old, collided with a Renault Premium truck that was parked off the roadway.

Zhuk died at the scene. Her son and husband were injured and have been hospitalized.
