The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has allegedly won the presidential elections for the seventh time. This result was reported by an exit poll.
According to state agency "BelTA".
Belarusian media claims that Lukashenko received support from 87.6% of the voters who participated in the elections.
"BelTA" reports that the head of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice, Alexander Khizhnyak, garnered 1.2% support, the head of the Liberal Democratic Party, Oleg Haydukevich, received 1.8%, entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya obtained 1.6%, and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Sergey Sirankov, secured 2.7%.
Five candidates participated in the presidential elections.
As per "BelTA", voter turnout was over 75% as of 16:00, with polling stations closing at 20:00 local time (19:00 Kyiv time).
