After the conclusion of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, 27-year-old Dutch driver Max Verstappen from Red Bull has officially secured the championship for 2024.
Verstappen achieved this by finishing in fifth place in the US race.
The main objective for the reigning champion was to finish ahead of his sole competitor, Lando Norris from McLaren, which he accomplished as Norris crossed the finish line right after Verstappen.
As a result, Verstappen now holds a 63-point lead over Norris, a margin that cannot be overcome in the remaining two Grand Prix of the season.
