In 2024, the revenue to the state budget from the "Google tax" amounted to 11.2 billion UAH.

This was reported by Danilo Hetmantsev, the head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy.

According to him, the predictions that the "Google tax" would not take effect in Ukraine, and that non-residents would not register and would exit the market, did not come true.

"On the contrary, revenues from the so-called Google tax have been increasing year by year. For instance, in the year it was introduced, the revenue was 4.3 billion UAH, in 2023 it reached 8 billion UAH, and by 2024, the revenue amounted to 11.2 billion UAH, which is almost four times higher than the amount we expected to receive as a result of the law's adoption," he stated.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law in 2021 that requires foreign internet companies to pay 20% VAT in Ukraine. The so-called "Google tax" law was passed by the Rada in early June. The "Google tax" is an unofficial name for the law or measures that obligate international tech companies, such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and others, to pay taxes for providing services in a specific country.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that in the IV quarter of 2023, 96 declarations were submitted to the state budget totaling 2.5 billion UAH (30.1 million euros and $34.4 million). Compared to the III quarter, the revenue increased by 421 million UAH. The largest taxpayers included Google, Sony, Etsy, and others.
