The city authorities have been ignoring the appeals of environmental activists and local residents regarding inadequate business activities and violations of environmental legislation in part of the Holosiivskyi Park named after Rylskyi
This is mentioned in the latest episode of the YouTube project “In the Shadow of the Chestnut”.
In their complaints, individuals write that in this natural area, entrepreneurs are placing questionable trade structures for selling food and beverages, setting up grills, disrupting the soil cover, installing amusement attractions, and continuously littering and polluting the land with household waste. The applicants have the impression that the park has turned into a sort of “fiefdom” for those with good connections to the city management officials.
Perhaps this is why the rope attraction, which was initially small in 2015, has since expanded by almost two hectares. But this “commerce” was not enough for the owners. A zip line over the pond and a monorail have also appeared.
According to the complainants, as of 2015, these facilities were located illegally.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office attempted to influence this activity by filing a lawsuit to declare the investment agreement with LLC “Sbonds-Ukraine” illegal. The lawsuit was motivated by the lack of necessary technical resources and experience of the company, which is conducting business activities in Holosiivskyi Park with violations.
Over the years, it has become clear that the owners of the attractions and trade “points” in the park are unwilling to vacate their “settled” spots. And the city authorities are satisfied with this. Outraged local residents see the ineffectiveness of the capital's officials and conclude that one hand washes the other.
