According to climatologists' observations, last year in Kyiv, 52 temperature records were recorded. The highest number occurred in April and July (13 and 14 respectively).

This was reported by the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.

Meteorologists explained that the average annual temperature for 2024 in the capital was +11.4°C, which is 2.4°C above the climatic norm. This indicates that the past year was the warmest in the capital's recorded history.

Additionally, last year, air temperatures exceeded the long-term averages in every month. February and September particularly stood out, with the largest positive temperature deviations of 5.2°C and 5.7°C, respectively.

Meanwhile, the coldest day was January 9 (-15.8°C), while the hottest was July 16 (+36.0°C).

Precipitation totaled 642 mm, which corresponds to 104 percent of the climatic norm. However, it was distributed very unevenly over time, with nearly two monthly norms falling in April and June.

At the same time, the average daily maximum and minimum water levels in the Dnipro River were max — 657 mm on April 24, and min — 400 mm on August 29.

Reminder, on the second day of the new year in Kyiv, outdoor thermometers showed +10°C.
