Zinchenko's team has advanced to the main tournament of Counter-Strike 2.

On the final day of the qualifiers for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the team “Passion UA”, founded by Ukrainian national football player Oleksandr Zinchenko, managed to qualify for the tournament.

The decisive match saw the Ukrainians face off against the Danish club “Astralis”.

In the first map (Inferno), after a balanced start, Passion UA made a significant push during the attack side and won with a comfortable lead. On Ancient, “Passion UA” again excelled on the attack side, winning it 7:5, but after the switch, they lost several rounds in a row and had to come back, which they successfully accomplished.

This victory allowed “Passion UA” to advance directly to the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, while two other winning teams will compete against each other for the last spot, as the Ukrainians had wins against significantly stronger opponents throughout the tournament.

It is noteworthy that for the first time in the history of Counter-Strike, a team composed entirely of Ukrainian esports athletes has qualified for a Major series tournament.
