Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Lithuanian Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding contributions to the Ukrainian defense industry.
Umerov announced this on his Facebook page.
The long-term agreement stipulates that Lithuania will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones, including the "Palyanytsia" drone missile. Ukraine expects to receive €10 million from its partner shortly.
"In addition to signing the memorandum, we discussed our key priorities for 2025: the training and equipping of Ukrainian brigades, ensuring ammunition supplies, air defense systems, and enhancing cooperation in the defense industry," Umerov added.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukraine and Lithuania will produce drones and electronic warfare systems under the new memorandum. The parties also discussed plans for increasing military assistance to Kyiv in 2025.
