The Ministry of Defense has announced a tender for the purchase of dry rations exceeding 485 million hryvnias.

The “State Rear Operator” agency has announced plans to procure 1.7 million sets of military rations for the next year, totaling over 485 million UAH.

This information is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, a typical ration set includes 14 items and contains, in addition to main dishes, utensils, spices, beverages, and more. The total caloric value of the meals is expected to be no less than 3500 kcal per set.

Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klymenko stated that the nutrition of defenders is not just a matter of calories, but also a guarantee of their combat readiness. “We are implementing new control mechanisms to ensure that the rations meet the highest standards, providing strength and endurance for the military in the most challenging conditions,” he noted.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense, the main difference in this year's procurement of rations is the enhanced control over contract compliance. Specifically, control points have been added where food products will be inspected by the Food Safety Administration, while all non-food items will be checked by the DOT.

Additionally, before the packaging begins, a tasting procedure is mandatory to ensure not only quality indicators but also an appropriate level of taste characteristics of the set's contents.
