A man who strangled his own mother has been taken into custody in the Kharkiv region.

According to the prosecutor's office, on November 14, in one of the villages of the Lozova district, a 34-year-old man strangled his own mother.

A group of people gathered at the residence where the suspect lived with his mother. The attendees consumed alcohol.

After a while, the guests left, while the homeowners continued their gathering.

A quarrel erupted between the suspect and his 60-year-old mother. Taking advantage of his physical strength, the man wrapped his hands around his relative's neck and applied pressure until the victim stopped showing signs of life.

The same day, law enforcement officers apprehended the man.

At the request of the prosecution, he was remanded in custody without the possibility of bail.
