In Kharkiv region, a drug dealer has been arrested.

A woman, who was exposed by the police for illegal distribution of a psychotropic substance, has been taken into custody by court order.

This information was reported by the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the police, in November at a checkpoint in the Izium district, law enforcement officers found 19 zip bags containing a white substance, a used medical syringe, and smoking devices in the possession of a car passenger.

The seized evidence has been sent for expert examination.

Investigators informed the woman of the suspicion under part 2 of Article 307 (illegal production, manufacturing, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The penalty for this article provides for imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.

The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention.
