A check will be conducted at the Komarov Psychoneurological Boarding House in the Kharkiv region, where a fire occurred.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, as conveyed by "Dumka."
According to the OVA, an internal investigation into the fire at the Komarov Psychoneurological Boarding House, which took place on January 4, will be carried out in the region. As a result of the blaze in one of the wards, a patient suffered fatal burns. Additionally, five other individuals were hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
At the time of the incident, there were 138 patients in the facility, including five bedridden patients and 11 individuals with limited mobility, five of whom used wheelchairs. During the fire, all patients and staff were evacuated.
"We must conduct an internal investigation into the use of resources and care equipment that were present in the boarding house. Therefore, we will provide full assistance to the investigation, including letters, regulatory documents, and instructions. And without waiting for a decree, we will independently compile a package of documents," emphasized Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
It is known that the fire covered an area of 2 m². Police are conducting the necessary investigations and examinations. The facility will hold briefings and train staff on how to respond to similar situations.
"A comprehensive electrochemical examination is ongoing. We are analyzing the conductors, particularly whether they operated under extreme conditions as a result of a short circuit. Of course, we also need to check the fire debris for the presence of flammable and lubricating materials," added Pavel Tokar, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.
Recall that it was previously reported that a psychiatric hospital was on fire near Kharkiv, where six patients were injured. It later became known that a young man died there. The cause of the fire at the Komarov Psychoneurological Boarding House could be a faulty anti-decubitus mattress.
