Three charitable foundations illegally imported passenger cars into Ukraine for sale.
According to the report from the Bureau of Economic Security.
Law enforcement officials stated that a group of individuals – citizens of Ukraine and Moldova – organized the illegal import of passenger vehicles into Ukraine without paying customs duties. They were brought into the country as aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but were later sold.
Detectives conducted searches during which they seized documents, computer equipment, and vehicles. As part of the pre-trial investigation, they are identifying all individuals involved in the scheme.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukrainians imported 14% more passenger cars in the last nine months compared to last year. Germany was the largest supplier of passenger vehicles.
