The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has announced suspicion against the head of the State Customs Service, Serhiy Zvyahintsev. He allegedly failed to declare real estate valued at $100,000.
This was reported by the press service of NABU.
It is noted that Zvyahintsev owns a house near Kyiv with an area of 236.8 square meters, as well as a plot of land. However, this property was not found in the official's declarations for the years 2021-2023. The investigation assessed the value of the land along with the house at $100,000.
According to the investigation, the actual owners of the property are Zvyahintsev and his family, but the official registered the property in the name of his wife's father. The Bureau clarifies that the investigation was initiated based on its own findings.
Note. Serhiy Zvyahintsev has been working in government positions since the early 2000s. He began his career in 2001 with a position in the Ministry of Economy. He worked there until 2015, and in 2020, Zvyahintsev headed the Department of State Supervision and Control over the Safety of Maritime and River Transport of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Ukraine.
Zvyahintsev joined the customs service in 2021 as the deputy head of the service, and two years later, he took the position of acting head of the agency.
