In the United Kingdom, unidentified drones were spotted over three U.S. Army air bases.
This was reported by The Guardian.
It is noted that small unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the Lakenheath and Mildenhall bases in Suffolk in eastern Britain, as well as near the Feltwell base in Norfolk from November 20 to 22.
According to the publication, this did not affect the residents of the bases or critical infrastructure.
As stated by the U.S. Air Force, which operates from British bases, it is currently unclear whether the drones should be considered hostile.
“We take threats seriously and implement strict measures at defense facilities. This includes security measures against drones,” emphasized a spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defence.
At the same time, security procedures at the Ministry of Defence have not been commented on yet.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that the UK is anticipating a series of Russian cyberattacks that could “turn off the lights for millions.” The terrorist state of Russia is targeting media, telecommunications, political and democratic institutions, as well as energy infrastructure.
Meanwhile, London decided not to confirm the provision of Storm Shadow to Ukraine and the authorization for strikes on Russia. The government prefers to keep this information confidential to avoid the appearance of Britain as a participant in the war.
