The Dutch Minister of Defense, Ruben Brekelmans, announced that his country has delivered three launchers of the Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine.
He shared this information on social media platform X.
He emphasized that, as Ukrainians face a "harsh winter" due to Russian airstrikes, the Netherlands is providing additional air defense support to Ukraine.
"Therefore, we have supplied three Patriot launchers. This saves lives and protects critical infrastructure. It is in our mutual interest to stop Russian aggression," the minister wrote.
Note.
The American defense giant Raytheon, the world's largest manufacturer of guided missiles and producer of the Patriot system, has repeatedly made technical modifications to its development. The company states that modernization plans for the system are designed at least until 2048. The specifications of the Patriot version indicate that the system can defend against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, aircraft, and "other threats".
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Germany will provide Ukraine with two IRIS-T air defense systems by the end of the year. These systems are expected to arrive in Ukraine "in the coming days and weeks, by Christmas".
