Germany will allocate an additional 65 million euros to assist Ukraine. The funds are intended for the repair of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
According to a report from the press service of the German Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection.
The ministry states that the funds for Ukraine will be provided through the Reconstruction Credit Institution. They will be directed to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, which has been receiving contributions from various international donors since 2022.
“Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure continues to be the target of extensive Russian airstrikes. A collapse of energy supply in the third winter of the war would have catastrophic consequences for the Ukrainian economy and population. Therefore, support for Ukraine is more crucial than ever,” emphasized German Minister of Economy and Energy Robert Habeck.
He noted that this assistance is a significant contribution to supporting Ukraine's energy supply.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Germany will provide Ukraine with two IRIS-T air defense systems by the end of the year. They are expected to arrive in Ukraine “in the coming days and weeks, before Christmas,” the minister stated.
