Elite clubs in the German Bundesliga will no longer be able to purchase new players until July.
The special transfer window (a period during which new footballers can be acquired) closed at 19:00 Kyiv time.
Over the course of 34 days of operation of the "window," 18 clubs in the top German division executed 56 incoming transfers and 62 outgoing transfers.
Consequently, German clubs spent €27,950,000 more than they earned from sales. The biggest spenders were RB Leipzig, who invested €55.5 million in player acquisitions, including €50 million for midfielder Xavi Simons.
It is noteworthy that seven clubs did not spend any money on direct player purchases.
More than half of all the funds received from player sales by Bundesliga clubs belong to Eintracht Frankfurt, which sold Egyptian Omar Marmoush for €75 million to Manchester City (England). Nevertheless, Eintracht also spent money, acquiring a replacement for Marmoush from French club Marseille for €26 million.
