Russian soldiers executed 5 captured defenders of Ukraine.

In November of this year, during an assault on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Petrivka in the Pokrovsk district, the defenders were forced to retreat. Several of them took shelter in a private house, but the Russians surrounded the settlement and took the defenders captive.

The occupiers disarmed the Ukrainian soldiers, forced them out of their hiding place, and made them lie on the ground. After that, the defenders were shot with automatic weapons, violating the norms of international humanitarian law.

The Office of the Prosecutor General has launched an investigation into the commission of a war crime combined with intentional murder. Prosecutors are currently examining all the circumstances of the crime and identifying those responsible. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
