On the morning of January 18, Russian forces struck Kyiv. As a result, four people lost their lives, and there is damage to infrastructure in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city.

According to Klitschko, a non-residential building caught fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district due to the attack. There is also damage to residential buildings. The entrance to the "Lukianivska" metro station in this area was closed following the damage – glass elements of the entrance were broken. Additionally, a McDonald's nearby was destroyed.
Furthermore, the press service of the State Emergency Service reported that at least ten cars caught fire as a result of the shelling. Fires in three vehicles have been extinguished. There was also partial destruction of an administrative building, a business center, and a store. A main water pipeline was damaged. A fire was detected in one of the buildings, which has already been localized.
