He transformed American cinema with his dark, surreal artistic style and is remembered for his films "Blue Velvet," "Mulholland Drive," and the series "Twin Peaks."

The director's death was announced by his family on social media.

In 2022, David Lynch recorded a video message in which he expressed support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
