The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), with the assistance of the Security Service (SBU), uncovered the misconduct of leaders from two structural units within the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who abused their official positions to benefit representatives of two private companies. These officials facilitated the victory of these firms in tenders for the procurement of aviation components.
This was reported by the NABU press service.
"With the help of these officials, price proposals were submitted to the commission from a predetermined group of participants, which was intended to create the illusion of competitive bidding. In contrast, more advantageous commercial offers from another participant were either deliberately distorted or completely ignored," the statement reads.
Due to the signing of unfavorable contracts, the Logistics Forces overpaid for products by 27.3 million UAH.
Both officials have been notified of their suspicion of conspiracy and abuse of power. The investigation is ongoing, examining the entire procurement chain of aviation components from foreign manufacturers to their importation into Ukraine, which was accompanied by a significant increase in their prices, the Bureau reported.
