The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, considers the decision of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to call Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to be incorrect.
“Russia is brutally attacking Ukraine, and one of the leaders of European countries with a strong economy is negotiating with the aggressor. I believe this is a mistake,” stated Andrzej Duda on the social network X.
He also expressed doubts that Scholz's conversation with Putin was “coordinated with allies.”
Moreover, he praised the decision of U.S. President Joe Biden's administration to grant Ukraine permission for long-range strikes against Russia using ATACMS missiles.
“I welcomed Joe Biden's decision. It was very necessary and it's good that it happened. Russia clearly sees that Ukraine is receiving support from Western countries,” he wrote.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply condemned Olaf Scholz's phone call to the Russian leader Putin, stating that the German Chancellor is opening a Pandora's box.
