The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has resumed the operation of three key notarial registers following a cyberattack by the Russian Federation.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

“After the large-scale cyberattack by the Russians, the Unified Register of Powers of Attorney, the Inheritance Register, and the Unified Register of Special Forms of Notarial Documents are now operational,” the statement reads.

From now on, notaries can fully carry out the registration of powers of attorney, wills, and inheritance cases, as well as conduct checks on special forms.

All notarial actions that were performed during the period of no access to the registers will be recorded within 5 working days. Enhanced cybersecurity measures have been implemented, the agency added.

As a reminder: Ukraine has experienced the most extensive cyberattack on state registers in recent times. As a result of the attack carried out by Russian hackers, the operation of key systems of the Ministry of Justice was temporarily halted.

Hackers claimed to have destroyed all data they accessed, including backups stored on servers in Poland.
