Rheinmetall изготовит для Украины еще 180 000 снарядов для установок Gepard.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has ordered additional 35mm ammunition for the Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft system from Rheinmetall.

This was reported by the press service of Rheinmetall.

According to the company, the new order was placed last December. It includes 180,000 HEI-T (high-explosive incendiary tracer) rounds.

The value of the contract has not been disclosed, but it is noted to be a "double-digit million euros" figure.

The ordered ammunition can be used effectively against various aerial targets, including drones.

The shells will be produced at the Rheinmetall plant in Unterlüß, Germany. Due to the increased demand for 35mm ammunition, the production line at the plant was quickly reinstated in spring 2023.

It is worth noting that last December it became known that Rheinmetall would supply Ukraine with tens of thousands of shells for 155mm artillery, valued at approximately 9 million euros.

Rheinmetall is also supplying Ukraine with a variety of state-of-the-art air defense systems, such as Skynex, utilizing programmable AHEAD airburst munitions.

The company is one of the leading manufacturers of comprehensive air defense systems based on artillery and the sole supplier of a full spectrum of fire control systems, protected and integrated launchers for guided missiles. These systems are complemented by air surveillance systems and radar technologies for search and detection.
