On January 3 at 16:20, Russian forces attacked the private sector and outskirts of Chernihiv with three ballistic missiles, reportedly “Iskander-M.”
The head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported this during a telethon.
As a result of the enemy attack, a 72-year-old man lost his life. Four individuals sustained injuries. Two residential buildings were completely destroyed, and around 10 more were damaged.
Throughout the day – from 12:00 to 20:00, the enemy launched strikes with various types of missiles: five S-300 surface-to-air missiles were fired at Kursk; three ballistic “Iskander-M” missiles targeted Chernihiv region; and three guided aviation missiles X-59/69 were aimed at Dnipropetrovsk region. Additionally, Russian troops attacked with 32 strike drones of the “Shahed” type and imitation drones.
The air defense shot down three X-59/69 missiles and 13 enemy drones. 19 enemy imitation drones were locally lost.
