Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for an end to the escalation of the war and advocated for conflict resolution, as reported by the Chinese news agency «Xinhua».
“Neither the spread of the crisis nor the escalation of the conflict is something that China wishes to see. Instead, China will continue to play a constructive role in its own way, promoting a ceasefire and the conclusion of the conflict,” Xi Jinping stated during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the G20 summit.
On the eve, Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Lin Jian announced that Beijing supports de-escalation and a ceasefire in Ukraine following reports that the US, France, and the UK had allowed Kyiv to use long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russia.
“China consistently supports efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution to the crisis and continues to play a constructive role in advancing a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis in its own way,” emphasized the Chinese foreign affairs representative.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that Ukrainian forces had struck the Bryansk region with American ATACMS missiles. The Russians claim to have shot down five missiles and disabled a sixth.
A source from RBC-Ukraine within the Defense Forces asserted that Ukrainian troops hit a weapons arsenal at the 1046 logistics support center in the Bryansk region with American ATACMS missiles. The arsenal is located near Karachev, about 130 km from Ukraine. Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clarified that the facility was hit during an attack on the night of November 19, but did not specify which weapons were used in the strike.
