A political scandal has erupted in Slovakia. The country has not received any official information regarding the whereabouts of Prime Minister Robert Fico for the past 14 days.
The Prime Minister went missing after a visit to Moscow and a meeting with Putin, and no one has been able to determine his location.
Meanwhile, he continued to post videos on social media where he accused Ukraine of halting the supply of Russian gas.
Journalists, through OSINT research, discovered his location – the Capella Hotel Hanoi in Vietnam.
The luxury suite occupied by Fico costs 5,740 euros per night.
For context – Fico's monthly salary is 11,200 euros.
Moreover, the journalists who conducted the OSINT research called the hotel administration and requested to be connected to Fico. The staff promptly transferred their call to Fico's room, although he did not answer.
It is noted that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico have the highest salaries in the EU relative to the average wage in their countries.
Fico's salary is 7.6 times higher than the average salary in Slovakia. However, even this amount is insufficient to cover a two-week stay in the luxurious hotel room in Vietnam where he is staying, the journalists point out.
Background. Recall that on December 30, Fico sent a letter to EU leaders, complaining about Zelensky. In the letter, he laments Ukraine's refusal to continue the transit of Russian gas after 2024.
On January 3, Fico stated that Slovakia will discuss reducing aid to Ukrainian refugees. Additionally, Bratislava will demand either the resumption of transit from Ukraine or compensation for the losses incurred, Fico said.
