Athletes from Kharkiv region secured prize positions at the World Powerlifting Championship.

Athletes from the Kharkiv region secured three silver medals, one bronze medal, and "gold" in the team standings at the World Powerlifting Championship.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the OVA, the World Powerlifting Championship took place in Iceland from November 11 to 16. Over 400 athletes from 34 countries participated in the event. Representing Ukraine were Kharkiv residents Tatyana and Sergey Bily. She became the silver medalist in the weight category up to 47 kg with a total result of 442.5 kg in the triathlon. Additionally, she earned two "small" silver medals in bench press and squats, while finishing fifth in deadlift. Furthermore, the Ukrainian women's team took first place in the team standings, with the Kharkiv athlete receiving a gold medal.

Meanwhile, Kharkiv resident Bely achieved a bronze medal in squats (402.5 kg). He placed fourth in both the bench press and deadlift. In the overall triathlon, he also finished fourth with a total result of 1032.5 kg.

In total, the Ukrainian team won 13 gold, 13 silver, and 8 bronze medals at the World Championship.
