The United States has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth $500 million.

This was stated by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a meeting in the "Ramstein" format.

It is noted that the package will include shells, missiles for air defense and air-to-ground systems, as well as equipment for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets.

A more comprehensive list of the provided arms includes:

  • AIM-7, RIM-7, and AIM-9M missiles for air defense
  • Air-to-ground missiles
  • Support equipment for F-16s
  • Tank bridge layers
  • Secure communication equipment
  • Firearms and ammunition
  • Spare parts, support equipment, services, training, and transportation.

“At 'Ramstein,' I am focused on doing everything possible to help Ukraine live in freedom and security. Together, our efforts must continue. Here is the fundamental truth: Ukraine's struggle is important for all of us,” Austin stated.

It is emphasized that this is the last package from the administration of the current President Joe Biden. Donald Trump will become the President of the United States on January 20.

Additionally, approximately $3.8 billion allocated for the PDA program will remain unspent despite the White House's promises to fully utilize these funds before the end of Biden's term. After the inauguration, they will be transferred to Donald Trump's administration.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the upcoming summit in Ramstein would consider military support for Ukraine until 2027. Roadmaps will be developed to enable donors to support Ukraine in the future.
