The temperature in the capital at the end of January corresponds to early April
On January 30, Kyiv recorded three heat records in just one day.
This is reported by the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky.
On Thursday, the minimum air temperature did not drop below 3.0°C, which is 0.1°C higher than the previous record for this date set in 2002.
The maximum temperature in the afternoon reached 11.6°C, exceeding the same year’s record by 3.7°C.
Moreover, the average daily air temperature was the highest ever recorded for this date, standing at 6.5°C. This figure surpassed the previous record set in 2002 by 1.4°C and exceeded the climatic norm by 10.7°C.
“According to long-term data, such air temperature corresponds to April 2,” the observatory noted.
