Ukraine is rushing to equip itself with its own warfare tools, and one of the most promising is the "Trembita" missile, which will be capable of reaching Moscow while also being the cheapest deep-strike munition in the world.
According to The Telegraph.
Journalists noted that the "Trembita" can carry 18 kg of explosives over a distance of up to 144 km. It is approximately 2 meters long and weighs 90 kg, launching from a ramp. It features a simple impulse jet engine, a tubular fuselage, and square wings.
At the same time, the developer of this missile is currently working on a more powerful version that can cover 650 km and reliably reach Moscow.
This version, which is expected to be ready in about a year, will cost over $10,000, yet it will still potentially be the cheapest deep-strike munition in the world, as noted in the article.
For comparison, the authors cited the ATACMS missile, which has a maximum range of 300 km but costs over $1 million.
"The new Ukrainian cruise missile 'Trembita' could become the biggest symbol of its quest for autonomy in firepower. Anticipating the day when it runs out of American munitions, Ukraine is preparing to develop 'Trembita' and other long-range deep-strike munitions. There are many," the article states.
Journalists also emphasized that Ukraine could arm itself with thousands of "Trembitas" even without external budgetary assistance.
