The government approved 15 million UAH in compensation for the families of fallen soldiers.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft law that provides for a one-time financial aid payment to families of deceased civilians. 

This was reported by the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The document stipulates that the families of civilians who died from February 24 to March 25, 2022, while participating in defense activities alongside military formations, will receive 15 million UAH.

The draft law also:

• specifies the criteria for granting the status of a family member of a deceased defender of Ukraine;
• provides for an additional payment for those who previously received partial compensation, up to the full amount of 15 million UAH.

In addition, the Cabinet has adopted a draft law concerning veteran sports. According to Shmyhal, the document is one of the key elements for rehabilitation and adaptation.

“We are enhancing the capabilities of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in this area and utilizing the existing network of sports facilities for veterans,” the Prime Minister noted.
