The government has intensified its oversight of the circulation of excise goods.

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution that establishes the procedure for maintaining the Unified Register of storage locations for ethyl alcohol, alcoholic distillates, bioethanol, alcoholic beverages, tobacco raw materials, tobacco products, and liquids used in electronic cigarettes. 

The press service of the Ministry of Finance reported this information. 

“The registration of storage locations in the Unified Register is critically important for the legal operation of enterprises in the sphere of excise goods circulation in Ukraine. This will enhance the transparency of the circulation of such goods and ensure control over their storage within the territory of Ukraine,” the agency noted. 

The register will contain information about:

• entities (name, EDRPOU code, address);
• location of storage sites;
• individual storage site number;
• license numbers for the production and circulation of excise goods;
• dates of inclusion and exclusion of storage sites from the register.

Changes to this register can be made upon request, by court ruling, and based on information from the Unified Register of Licensees – in case of termination or expiration of the license.

The storage location register will come into effect 60 days after the resolution takes effect.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that at the beginning of December, the Council passed a law on increasing tobacco excise and linking it to the euro. As of January 24, the document is unsigned by the president. According to MP Zheleznyak, due to this, the budget has already lost 630 million UAH.
