The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada introducing the concept of "eco-industrial park".
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.
"This will be an innovative format for industrial sites, where businesses will utilize alternative energy sources, manage waste efficiently, and optimize the use of water resources," he noted.
According to him, the state will provide support in the form of tax incentives and the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure.
In addition, the head of government added that another industrial park will be established in the Kyiv region. According to him, this site will create 1,500 new jobs and attract over UAH 1 billion in investments.
"After this decision, there will be 100 industrial parks operating in Ukraine," Shmyhal emphasized.
As reported by Cabinet representative Taras Melnychuk in a Telegram channel, the mentioned draft law proposes amendments to the law "On Industrial Parks" regarding the clarification of requirements for documents, procedures, rights and obligations, as well as the relationships of entities within industrial parks during their creation and operation.
The document provides a definition for the term "industrial park" by simplifying the terminology (replacing "industrial (manufacturing) park").
The project stipulates that the selection of territory for the eco-industrial park is conducted with a priority on ecological safety, conservation, and development of protected natural areas and objects.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Ministry of Economy announced the allocation of UAH 347.5 million for the development of industrial parks. This includes "Korosten," "BF Terminal," and "Vinnytsia Industrial Park."
