The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in the first reading the draft law No. 11543 regarding safety in general secondary education institutions. A total of 235 deputies voted in favor.

The draft law proposes the introduction of relevant changes:
The founder of the general secondary education institution must ensure safety and compliance with labor protection and fire safety requirements (currently, there are only requirements for labor protection, life safety, and fire safety).
The head of the general secondary education institution is required to promote preventive activities among students to prevent them from committing offenses.
