Last year, demand for new gasoline cars in Ukraine declined, according to "Ukravtoprom."

In 2024, Ukraine's vehicle fleet welcomed 27.9 thousand new cars equipped with gasoline engines, which is a 2% decrease compared to 2023.

Furthermore, the share of gasoline cars in the overall sales of new passenger vehicles has also decreased.

It is noted that while in 2023 they accounted for 47% of the new car market, now they only make up 40%.

The market leader for new gasoline vehicles last year was the MAZDA CX5, as stated in the report.

The top five models of new cars with gasoline engines were:

• MAZDA CX5 – 1738 units;
• KIA Sportage – 1582 units;
• RENAULT Duster – 1553 units;
• SKODA Octavia – 1278 units;
• HYUNDAI Tucson – 1210 units.

At the same time, the demand for imported used cars with gasoline engines increased by 9%, reaching 105.3 thousand units. They accounted for 47% of initial sales of used passenger cars, compared to 45% in 2023.

The top five imported used gasoline vehicles were:

• VOLKSWAGEN Golf – 7219 units;
• AUDI Q5 – 4578 units;
• VOLKSWAGEN Tiguan – 4414 units;
• NISSAN Rogue – 4042 units;
• RENAULT Megane – 3922 units.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that demand for diesel cars in Ukraine fell by 14% over the year. Among new diesel passenger vehicles, the most popular were RENAULT Duster, VOLKSWAGEN Touareg, and TOYOTA Hilux.
