Counterfeit perfume production in Odesa: the court has issued a verdict against the mastermind behind the operation.

Based on the materials from the detectives of the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Odesa region, the court has issued a verdict against the organizer of a criminal group, whose members established a large-scale production of perfumes from well-known brands.

This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security.

Previously, the Bureau's detectives determined that a native of the Syrian Arab Republic had involved several accomplices in illegal activities, including citizens of Ukraine. Together, they organized the production and sale of counterfeit perfumes.

“They sold fake perfumes throughout Ukraine in bulk and retail through websites, Telegram channels, and at the '7 Kilometer' market. The total value of the seized property amounts to over 115 million UAH,” the statement reads.

The man has now been found guilty of committing a criminal offense as stipulated in part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He has been sentenced to 4 years in prison, with a prohibition on holding director positions for 1 year, without property confiscation, and is released from serving the main sentence of imprisonment under a 2-year probation period.
