В результате удара Украины 30 декабря в Курской области погибли четверо российских офицеров.

At least four Russian officers were killed during Ukraine's attack on the city of Lgov in the Kursk region on December 30, as reported by the independent Russian media outlet “Mediazona” on January 17, citing recently published obituaries.

The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Khinshtein, stated on December 30 that an 86-year-old woman was injured and a two-story house was damaged as a result of the attack. The Russian official did not provide information about military casualties.

However, according to “Mediazona,” at least four officers of the 76th Air Assault Division with the rank of lieutenant colonel were killed by British-made Storm Shadow missiles.

One of the deceased is Lieutenant Colonel Valery Tereschenko, as reported by “Mediazona,” referencing an obituary on the page of the Officer's Hockey League on social media. The attack resulted in the deaths of 8 senior division personnel, with another 22 wounded, according to the obituary.

Two more obituaries for Lieutenant Colonels Pavel Maletsky and Alexey Seliverstov were found by “Mediazona” on their relatives' social media pages.

Another fallen officer is Major Ali Tsurov from Ingushetia, who also served in the 76th Air Assault Division, the media reports.

On December 26, Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted another shelling of Lgov, hitting a Russian command post. As a result of the attack, 18 Russian soldiers were killed.

Despite significant losses among Russian and North Korean ranks, Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region are increasingly losing ground, facing a Russian advantage in manpower and equipment.

The captured foothold of Ukraine in Kursk is considered a potential bargaining chip ahead of the expected intentions of the elected U.S. President Donald Trump to persuade both sides towards peace negotiations.
